Luz Sosa, an accomplished Economics Instructor at Milwaukee Area Technical College, holds a Master of Science in Applied Economics and a Bachelor of Arts from Marquette University. Originally from Asuncion, Paraguay, she embarked on a journey to the United States at the age of 16 with her family. Overcoming the language barrier, Luz persevered and successfully completed her high school education at Whitefish Bay High School.

In 2007, Luz graduated from Marquette University with a double major in Economics and Political Science, along with two Master’s degrees. Her professional journey led her to contribute significantly to different sectors, including roles at NAMWOLF, where she supported minority and women’s law firms, and Northwestern Mutual, where she served as a financial representative. Later, she held a position as a general manager at Helios, a solar panel manufacturing company.

However, Luz’s passion for empowering students led her to pursue a fulfilling career in education. She became an Economics instructor at Milwaukee Technical College (MATC), where she continues to inspire and educate students. Beyond the classroom, Luz has been an advocate for positive change. She played a vital role as the Latino Outreach Organizer for Citizen Action of Wisconsin, championing critical issues such as Healthcare, Economic Equality, and Voting Rights within the Latino communities.
